Deep-Fried Goodness at the Coastal Carolina Fair
There are only a few days left for you to visit the Coastal Carolina Fair in Ladson. If you haven’t already made the trip, I highly suggest you do. It may be your typical, local fair, but there is a little something for everyone. There are plenty of scary rides for the daring, carnival games to try your luck at, animals to pet, and oh my goodness so much food to try.
Nothing about the fair is healthy, but we all deserve a little fatty deliciousness from time-to-time. The fair features the standard fare (see what I did there) – turkey legs, cotton candy, candied apples, elephant ears/funnel cake, tacos, sausages, ribbon fries, french fries, roasted corn, nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers, soda, lemonade and more – but also has some really sinful additions.
The real stars of the Coastal Carolina Fair come deep-fried. There are deep-fried pickles, Pop Tarts, Snickers, Oreos, Milky Ways, 3 Musketeers, Kool-Aid, Twinkies and butter. I assure you there are no mistakes in that list; they all really exist. I had the pleasure of trying the deep-fried Kool-Aid and it was actually pretty darn good.
You have until November 5th to experience all the Coastal Carolina Fair has to offer, so hurry up to Ladson!
