UConn out of Carrier Classic

In March it appeared the 2010-2011 National Champion UConn Huskies would be participating in the Carrier Classic in Charleston, but ESPN is now reporting that is no longer the case. The “worldwide leader in sports” says Ohio State University will play Marquette on the deck of the USS Yorktown, while Connecticut will head to Germany to play Michigan State on the Ramstein Air Base in Germany instead. The base is the home of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe.

As previously reported, the Carrier Classic in Charleston will also feature two women’s programs (University of Notre Dame and Ohio State University) playing as well.
