Iron Brew Competition Preview
Holy City Brewery and Mellow Mushroom are teaming up to bring you the first Iron Brew Competition! The event will pit over 60 home-brewers against each other to see how made the best drink.
Each participant had to create a brew with the official ingredient – honey. A panel of judges will rank each drink based on aroma, appearance, flavor, mouthfeel, and overall impression.
And guess what? YOU could be judge as well! A $10 donation will allow you to sample the drinks and vote for your favorite. The donations will go towards the Gavalas-Kolanko Foundation.
The winner will be announced on Sunday September 9th at Mellow Mushroom in Avondale. Besides some great prizes, the victors will also have their beer sold at the West Ashley and Downtown locations.
Speaking of Mellow Mushroom, they will have a food truck at the Saturday event and they’ll be offering $2 slices of their delicious pizza. Holy City will be selling $3 beers out of their own truck.
South Street and Champagne with Friends will provide the musical entertainment
