Yorktown Goes Pink for October
According to the Mount Pleasant Patch, the USS Yorktown will once again be celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month by turning pink. Every night throughout October, the ship will have pink lights shining on it, which can be seen in the picture to the left (which came from the Patch article).
I have not been able to see the Yorktown yet, but I imagine it is quite the sight from the Cooper River Bridge. If anyone can take a good picture, send it my way!
The Yorktown is not the only Holy City landmark to change colors in October. A couple of years ago the US Customs House on East Bay Street also went pink. You can see the photo I took of the building below.
