Thanksgiving To Go!

Is Thanksgiving just too stressful for you? Would you rather leave the cooking to someone else? If you answered yes to either of those questions, then be sure to read on to learn about the Holy City businesses that are here to help this holiday season! I will update this list as more events are announced.

For those newbies just stumbling onto me site – if you want to stay up-to-date on all things Charleston, you can follow me on TWITTER and like me on FACEBOOK.

1. Cru Catering is offering a “Thanksgiving Dinner Pick Up option.” All you have to do is call them, place an order, pick it up the day before Thanksgiving and then eat up the dishes when you are ready to eat. Their dinner will include “roasted turkey, traditional Southern-style stuffing, housemade giblet gravy, port wine cranberry sauce, a roasted pumpkin and arugula salad, whipped sweet potatoes, caramelized braised Brussels sprouts and a mouth-watering bourbon pecan pie dessert.” It will cost you $35.00 per person (plus tax) and there is a four person minimum. Orders must be placed by Noon on Sunday, November 18th. There is also the option of just purchasing the sides. To order or for more information, call (843) 534-2433.

2. Charleston Mag published a list of Thanksgiving dishes from local restaurants that you can order to complete your Turkey Day plans. Below is their complete list:

3. The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort will have a buffet for Thanksgiving.  The event includes numerous food stations, chef-carved meats, a wine bar, plenty of desserts and ice sculptures. Plus, there will be games and arts and crafts for children. Cost is $70 for adults and $28 for children. $2 from each purchase will go to the Ronald McDonald House of Charleston.Make a reservation online or by calling 843-768-6253. They will also have pies for sale for pick-up. Flavors include: Pumpkin, Pecan, Cinnamon-Apple Lattice, Sweet Potato, Old Fashioned Mincemeat, Pumpkin Cream Cheese, Cranberry-Apple Streusel, Chocolate Pecan, and Butternut Squash. Cost is $15 per pie and you can call the same number listed above for orders.

4. Halls Chophouse will be having a Thanksgiving dinner as well as offering many of their normal menu items. Reservations are recommended. 843-727-0090.

5. Tristan’s Turkey Day meal is $50 for adults and $20 for children. Reservations are required. 843-534-2155.

6. Middleton Place will be open and will feature carriage rides, house tours and a Thanksgiving Buffet. The meal runs from 11AM – 4PM and is by reservation only. 843-266-7489. There will also be a limited version of the Dinner Menu with Turkey Day specials available a la carte. 843-266-7477.

7. Mad River will have its Thanksgiving Eve party starting at 9 pm on 11/21. There will be cash prizes for their Pocahontas and Pilgrims costume contest. There will also be drink specials.

8. Bull Street Gourmet & Market is offering a sizable list of to-go items, including fully cooked turkeys. See their list HERE. (843) 720-8992.

9. McCrady’s is offering a 3 course menu for $65.

10. Morgan Creek Grill will have a Thanksgiving Buffet. $28 for adults and $8 for children. Reservations recommended.

12. Oak Steakhouse is offering a three course Thanksgiving Menu for $42 per person.

13. Poogan’s Porch has dinner with prices of $35.95 for adults and $14.95 for children (under 10).

15. Slightly North of Broad has a prix fixe menu with two options – $39 for two courses or $45 for three.

16. Water’s Edge has a Thanksgiving Buffet which includes: Turkey, Ham, Gravy, Stuffing, Cranberry, Relish, Macaroni & Cheese, Green Bean Casserole, Sweet Potatoes, and Pumpkin Pie. $27.95 for Adults, $13.95 for Children.

17. Anson will have 3 courses for $45.

18. ‘Cesca will be sporting a Prix Fixe Menu at $35 per person. Selections include fried turkey breast, Tuscan bread stuffing and marsala gravy.

19. Other Restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving Day and will be serving their normal fare as well as some special menu items. Reservations are also recommended for these establishments. To see which restaurants are open, view their menus, and/or make reservations, head over to Open Table.
