“Rumors & Notes” – I’ll post these little tidbits when there are stories that can’t be completely confirmed or don’t constitute a full blog entry, but deserve some attention.

• The big news today was Tim Scott’s appointment to the open South Carolina Senate seat (Live 5 News).
• Trident Technical College was evacuated this evening due to a bomb threat (Live 5 News).
• A man was stuck by a needle at a gas pump in Mt. Pleasant (Mount Pleasant Patch).
• College of Charleston President George Benson released a statement on the Newtown, CT tradegy (ABC News 4).
• Family displaced, one injured by fire in Moncks Corner (ABC News 4).
• There was a report of shots fired at the Ashley Oaks Apartments in West Ashley, but police didn’t find any evidence to substantiate those claims. (Live 5 News).
• The Folly Beach Fishing Pier is undergoing maintenance (FollyBeach.com)
• CofC Baseball Coach Monte Lee Named ‘Top 10’ in Nation (Mount Pleasant Patch).
• 1 killed when small plane departs Summerville, crashes in NC (Live 5 News).
