North Charleston Police Featured on Dateline

Published

on

The news coming out of North Charleston has not been good over these last few days. The police have been quiet busy as there have been 5 shootings in just 4 days. Plus, the city is on pace for 18 murders this year. They had 13 murders all of last year.

Who could forget just 7 years ago when the city was named the 7th most dangerous location in the country?

The good news is that North Charleston has drastically improved and found itself at number 125 on the same list this year. There are certainly still problems, but the city is working hard to get better.

Police and town officials have done a lot to improve North Charleston and NBC’s Dateline recently featured one of their more unique approaches to combating crime. The episode follows narcotics detectives Charity Prosser and Jamel Foster as they pilot the STAND program.
