Pet Fest Planned for Next Weekend

Get ready to party with your pooch because the Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park will be hosting Pet Fest on April 13th and 14th.

The festival boasts of exhibits, demonstrations, experts, entertainment, and more. Specifically, you and your pet can expect:

• K9’s in Flight: Frisbee Dogs & Dock Diving (12:00, 2:00 & 4:00 pm). Dogs can dive for a $5 donation.
• Expo, informational, and merchandise booths from veterinarians, groomers, trainers and pet suppliers.
• K-9 Good Citizen Test (Saturday Only)
• Rescue groups and adoption centers will have animals to be adopted on-site.
• Jump castles and slides for the kids.
• Tasty food and beverages
• Lowcountry Dog Magazine Cover Model Contest
• Charleston Kennel Club’s “Meet the Breed” dog show and Family Dog Show (Sunday Only)
• Pet Contests
• S.T.A.R.R. (Search Tactics & Rescue/Recovery) Demos
• Chow Down Like Your Hound
• Swift Paws lure chasing – $5 donation
• Animal ER: Interactive Vet Experience (Saturday Only)

The event starts at 11 am each day and runs until 5 pm. Admission is $5 per person, but Children 12 and under, Gold Pass Members, and leashed pets are free.
