Four New Nominations for Shovels & Rope

Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent, better known as Shovels & Rope, are once again receiving national honors.

The local duo was nominated by the Americana Music Association in four categories for the upcoming 2013 Honors & Awards ceremony. The four noms was made more Impressive by the fact that no other musicians matched that total.

The band is up for:

• Album of the Year – O’ Be Joyful
• Song of the Year – “Birmingham”
• Emerging Artist of the Year
• Duo/Group of the Year
