Market Pavilion Hotel Tops Travel + Leisure List

By now you all probably know that Charleston was chosen as the Best City in the U.S. in Travel + Leisure’s 18th annual World’s Best Awards. What you may not know is that the magazine’s readers voted the Market Pavilion Hotel as the Top Small City Hotel in the Continental U.S.
The East Bay Street landmark abuts South Market Street and features a popular rooftop bar, a premier steakhouse, and the famed Nitrotini (below left).
Although first in the Continental U.S., the hotel ranked 52nd overall.

The Market Pavilion Hotel was not the only Charleston entity on the “Small City” list. The Wentworth Mansion checked in at # 3 (80th overall), followed immediately by the French Quarter Inn at # 4, while the Planters Inn placed at # 7. You can see the entire list here.
Meanwhile the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort placed 27th on the list of Top Resorts in the Continental U.S.
