The Preservation Society of Charleston is offering citizens a unique chance to dine at some of the Holy City’s most historic ruins. Local interior designers will transform the abandoned buildings, while local chefs prepare special dinners for the “This Plate Matters” series.

The dinner locations were chosen based on their connections to the Society’s “Seven to Save” program. “Seven to Save” aims to preserve certain historical buildings in the region.

Here’s a look at the schedule:

  • Tuesday, July 30th at 7 pm
    • The Trolley Barn at 645 Meeting Street
    • Chef: Tara Derr Webb, Farm Bar
    • Designer: Stacey Fraunfelter, Red Letter Events
  • Tuesday, August 20th at 7 pm
    • The Cigar Factory at 701 East Bay Street
    • Chef: Carrie Morey, Callie’s Biscuits
    • Designer: John Pope, John Pope Antiques
  • Tuesday, September 17th at 7 pm
    • Brick House at Edisto Island
    • Chefs: Matt & Ted Lee
    • Designer: Mimi Van Wyck, Van Wyck & Van Wyck

Proceeds from the series will go towards helping the Preservation Society of Charleston.
