Animal Society in Urgent Need of Donations to Community Food Bank
The Charleston Animal Society’s Community Food Bank is in urgent need of donations. The food bank, which helps feed the pets of people in need, has a dangerously low inventory and is in critical need of the community’s help.
To donate you can drop off food at the Charleston Animal Society at 2455 Remount Road in North Charleston or you can purchase something from their online wishlist and have Amazon send it right to them. You can also donate money here.
The Animal Society described the Community Food Bank in a press release saying:
“With many pet owners out of work or underemployed and struggling to make ends meet, the Community Food Bank helps them feed the 4-legged members of their family rather than face the distressing possibility of having to give them up.
Each month, the Community Food Bank provides approximately 100 struggling families with food for their pets. The service depends entirely on donations by the public. Donations can be made by dropping off food at the shelter or by having it delivered through an online retailer such as Amazon or Petango.
The Food Bank is available for any Charleston county pet owner in need. It is open every Saturday at the Charleston Animal Society located at 2455 Remount Road in North Charleston. Participating families typically receive a one month supply of food.”
