A Global Affair: Gala and Silent Auction on October 24th
The fifth edition of “A Global Affair Gala and Silent Auction” is set for October 24th at Alhambra Hall in Mount Pleasant. The charitable event is hosted by Possibilities Without Borders, a local nonprofit organization supporting international causes. The event begins at 7 pm.
Attention will be drawn to a group of students from the College of Charleston School of Business, the Medical University of South Carolina, and The Citadel who want to work on the Project Okurase clean water initiative. The project focuses on a village in Ghana, West Africa that does not have access to a clean water source, local medical care, or sufficient educational opportunities.
Funds raised at the gala will help provide that village with the necessary resources to create a safe water source. A group of students from each of the three schools will travel to Ghana next summer to work on the project.
