’14 Carolina Challenge Cup Will Include Clint Dempsey, Seattle Sounders

The Charleston Battery have announced the participants for the 2014 Carolina Challenge Cup. The local USL PRO squad will be joined at this year’s tournament by Major League Soccer’s Seattle Sounders FC, D.C. United, and Houston Dynamo.
U.S. Soccer superstar Clint Dempsey is a member of the Sounders and will certainly help draw a crowd to Blackbaud Stadium. Also of note, Seattle has three former Charleston players in Osvaldo Alonso, Alex Caskey, and Lamar Neagle.
The tournament, which is in its 11th year, will take place from February 22 – March 1, 2014. Individual and group tickets go on sale Monday, November 11th at 11 am. Individual tickets are $15 or $25 before tax. They will be available online or through the Charleston Battery Box Office at (843) 971-4625.
2014 Battery season ticket holders will get Cup tickets to the tournament at no extra charge.
