Poe’s Tavern Gets a Mention in Zagat

Zagat has chosen the Tell-Tale Heart Burger from Poe’s Tavern as South Carolina’s representative for the magazine’s “50 States, 50 Burgers” collection. In honor of Burger Week, Zagat picked an option from each state to spotlight and Poe’s earned the nod for the Palmetto State.

Here’s what the periodical said about the restaurant and their burger:

Poe’s, a serious burger spot with local clout, is named after Edgar Allen Poe, who was stationed in Charleston during a stint in the army. Naturally, the go-to menu item is the Tell-Tale Heart burger – juicy, ground-in-house Angus chuck beef, layered with a fried egg, Applewood bacon and cheese.
