Louie’s Kids Founder: Aykroyd Wants 100k For Charity Event
As many of you already know, Bill Murray has once again signed on to participate in the Slim Down the South Celebrity Softball Challenge benefiting Louie’s Kids on November 9th. What you probably don’t know is that Murray’s Saturday Night Live/Ghostbusters comrade Dan Aykroyd was also willing to participate…for a price.
Louis Yuhasz, the Founder and former CEO of Louie’s Kids, wrote on Twitter that Aykroyd would attend the charity event in exchange for a $100,000 appearance fee. He went on to say, “If I had a spare $100k I doubt we’d be doing a charity softball game? Just sayin” [sic].
It should be noted that it’s not uncommon for celebrities to receive appearances fees or some type of compensation for participation in charity events. I reached out to Yuhasz who said some celebrities are offered first class travel and a highly-rated hotel in exchange for attending the Charleston event.
Regardless, if the local response to Yuhasz’s tweets are any indication, Aykroyd won’t be gaining any new fans in Murray’s Holy City territory.
