“Bill Murray Look-A-Like” Polar Bear Plunge on Folly
This year’s New Year’s Day Polar Bear Plunge on Folly Beach will have a slight twist to it. All plungers and attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite Bill Murray character.
The year’s event will begin at noon on January 1st with the plunge starting at 1 pm. Attendees should meet on the beach outside of The Tides and Blu. Multiple awards will be given to the folks with the best Bill Murray get-ups.
Plus, multiple Folly restaurants/bars will open early to serve $4 Bloody Marys. Participating locations include: Woody’s, Rita’s Seaside Grille, Shrimp Company, The Grill & Island Bar, Folly Beach Crab Shack, Loggerheads, Drop In Deli, Planet Follywood, Blu, Locklear’s, and Snapper Jacks.
An oyster roast begins after the plunge. Tickets for the roast can be purchased here.
During the event long-sleeved commemorative t-shirts will be available for sale with proceeds benefiting the local charity Surfer’s Healing.
