Corner of King and Calhoun Likely Belongs to Chipotle

After years of rumors, it appears the old Millennium Music building will finally be home to a new business. As the Post & Courier first reported, Chipotle Mexican Grille has submitted plans to open a location at the corner of King and Calhoun Streets.
If the proposal is accepted, the downtown location will be the second Chipotle in the Charleston area. The first restaurant can be found at 7398 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston.
The Chipotle franchise offers a variety of burritos, tacos, salads and more. Clearly, they will be in direct competition with the Moe’s Southwest Grill that is located just across the street from the proposed location.
