Travel + Leisure: Charleston is the Best City in North America

Charleston received a fresh batch of honors today, which certainly won’t help us shed our snobby attitude. Hey, it’s hard not to be a little uppity when the accolades just keep rolling in.

Travel + Leisure’s readers have determined that Charleston is the Best City in the US/Canada and even ranked the Holy City as 7th Best City in the World. Bangkok took home top honors in the latter category.

Being labeled as the world’s 7th best city is actually a bit of a disappointment for Charleston. Back in October, Conde Nast Traveler named Chucktown the Top City in the World.

The winners of Travel + Leisure’s 18th Annual World’s Best Awards were determined by a questionnaire that was created by Travel & Leisure’s editors.
