The Irvin-House Vineyard will celebrate the new year with their Third Annual Cork Shuckin’ Festival on Saturday, February 9th from 1 pm until 5 pm. The vineyard is closed for the entire month of January, so this will be their first opportunity to celebrate the start of 2014.

The event is free to attend, but be sure to bring some cash or credit if you want to enjoy the oysters, wine, Firefly spirits, and/or food. Holy City Seafood will provide the oysters, while local food vendors Coastal Crust, Stono Cafe and Dulce Truck will be on site. Plus, the winery and Firefly distillery will be open for tastings.

There will also be live music from One Kool Blow during the event.

This year, the vineyard is partnering with the Lowcountry Loop Trolley to provide safe rides for attendees. Limited seats are available, so you should reserve your spot in advance on www.lowcountrylooptrolley.com or by calling 843-654-5199. Pick-up locations include:

  • Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre at 12 pm
  • Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park at 12:15 pm
  • Charleston Visitors Center at 12:30 pm
