Charleston Mardi Gras Finale: Food Festival, Parade, & “Fais Do Do”

The Krewe of Charleston will host a food festival, parade, and “Fais Do Do” (Cajun Dance Party) this Sunday at the Charleston Convention Center from 10 am until 8:30 pm.

The Charleston Mardi Gras Finale will include cajun food, Mardi Gras floats, a pig roast, gumbo cook-off, live music and more.

Here’s a look at the schedule:

10 am – noon

• Cajun Hog Roast with boudin, sausage, and more

11 am – noon

• An alligator will be skinned, fried, and made into an Alligator Sauce Picante

Noon – 1 pm

• Crawfish Etoufee Demo

Noon – 4 pm

• Gumbo Cook-Off

1 pm – 2 pm

• Crawfish Boil

2 pm – 3 pm

• Authentic Louisiana Chef Demonstration

3 pm – 4 pm

• Charleston Mardi Gras Children’s Parade

• Mardi Gras Costume Contest

• Awards Ceremony

4 PM – 8:30 PM

• Fais Do Do: Live music and dancing
