Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Looking for the Lowcountry’s Best & Brightest
The South Carolina Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is currently accepting nominations for its “Best and Brightest Young Professionals” honor, which is given to “outstanding individuals for their success in community leadership, philanthropy, and industry.”
All honorees will meet these criteria:
- Demonstrate leadership
- Show success in their chosen career
- Display desire for community involvement (socially, charitably, and/or professionally)
- Exhibit dedication in assisting organizations with the goal of bettering the lives of others
- Age 25-39
If someone you know fits that description, you can nominate them online. Nominations will be accepted through March 1st.
Honoree’s will be honored at a kick-off reception on May 22nd. The campaign culminates with the “Best & Brightest” celebration banquet and awards presentation on September 18th at Founder’s Hall in Charles Towne Landing.
About the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation:
The Foundation creates and funds innovative research and provides specialized medical care to improve the length and quality of life for people living with cystic fibrosis. The Foundation depends on donor support to carry out its life-saving programs which in recent years have made significant medical advancements.
About Cystic Fibrosis:
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that affects approximately 30,000 children and adults in the US. CF causes the body to produce abnormally thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and can lead to life-threatening lung infections. CF also affects the pancreas, interfering with digestion. There is currently no cure for CF.
