Edmund’s Oast, the new restaurant on Morrison Drive, will host a quarterly Beer School beginning on March 10th at 6:30 pm. The series will run each Monday beginning at the same time.

Brandon Plyler, manager at The Charleston Beer Exchange and a Certified Cicerone, will lead the series covering topics like the History of the IPA and How to Pair Beer and Cheese. Here’s a look at the “syllabus”:

  • Class 1
    • Explore the styles of beer the Trappist Abbey’s are known for
    • Try some examples of the beers produced by Trappist Monks and by secular breweries
  • Class 2
    • Beer and Cheese
    • Taste cheese with beer pairings
  • Class 3
    • Story of IPA: Old World
  • Class 4
    • Story of IPA: New World

Classes will be held on the outside patio at the restaurant and cost $35 per person per class or $130 for the entire four weeks (a $10 savings). The average class is expected to run for an hour and a half.
