Beer School Offered at Edmund’s Oast
Edmund’s Oast, the new restaurant on Morrison Drive, will host a quarterly Beer School beginning on March 10th at 6:30 pm. The series will run each Monday beginning at the same time.
Brandon Plyler, manager at The Charleston Beer Exchange and a Certified Cicerone, will lead the series covering topics like the History of the IPA and How to Pair Beer and Cheese. Here’s a look at the “syllabus”:
- Class 1
- Explore the styles of beer the Trappist Abbey’s are known for
- Try some examples of the beers produced by Trappist Monks and by secular breweries
- Class 2
- Beer and Cheese
- Taste cheese with beer pairings
- Class 3
- Story of IPA: Old World
- Class 4
- Story of IPA: New World
Classes will be held on the outside patio at the restaurant and cost $35 per person per class or $130 for the entire four weeks (a $10 savings). The average class is expected to run for an hour and a half.
