Walk For Water This Saturday at Cannon Park
The Walk For Water, a charity event benefitting Water Missions International, will take place this Saturday at Cannon Park beginning at 9 am.
According to the organization, “Every day millions of people have to walk miles and miles just for water. Most of the time, the water they find is contaminated and makes them sick.” This Saturday’s event will help create safe water development projects in these communities.
The event consists of participants walking with an empty bucket from Cannon Park to White Point Gardens at The Battery. Once they reach this point, participants will fill their buckets with water and return to Cannon Park. The 3.5-mile walk demonstrates what some people have to do on a daily basis just to get water.
