Scoop Up Jeni’s Spledid Ice Cream on June 5th
The long-awaited arrival of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is almost here. The scoop shop will finally open for business on Thursday, June 5th at 499 King Street.
Charlestonians can expect the same ice cream flavors that are offered in the Atlanta, Chicago, Nashville, and Ohio shops. Each type is served in either cups, hand-made waffle cones, or between two macaroon cookies as an ice cream sandwich. There will also be sorbets, frozen yogurts, sundaes, and ice cream sandwiches.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams was created by James Beard Award winner Jeni Britton Bauer and was called “the best in America” by Time in March 2011. Bauer will be on hand for the grand opening.
During the grand opening event, the scoop shop will be serving free scoops of their exclusive Charleston flavor, Sweet Cream with Molasses & Peanuts. Plus, the first 50 people through the door will receive a Charleston bandana and other gifts.
The Holy City shop is located between Stars and the Charleston Distilling Co. For more information, visit the official website.
