Official Charleston Social Media Day Set For June 30th
The City of Charleston and Mayor Joe Riley have declared June 30th to be the city’s Official Social Media Day. The proclamation was issued after the lobbying of the Charleston Social Media Hospitality Group. The website Mashable has run Social Media Day on that date since 2010.
Leading up to Social Media Day, the group and the city are requesting that locals and fans of the Holy City use the hashtag “#chsyou” to show what Charleston means to them. The use of the hashtag is already underway.
On June 30th, there will be a celebration at The Alley where the group will showcase the best pictures from around the Lowcountry and give out prizes.
