SC-TX BBQ Invitational Scheduled for July 13th
For their first public event, the Charleston Brown Water Society is clearly trying to make a big splash. The “whiskey-focused non-profit” organization is partnering with the Charleston City Paper to host the 2014 SC-TX BBQ Invitational on Sunday, July 13th at Holy City Brewing.
BBQ legends John Lewis of La Barbecue in Austin, TX and Rodney Scott of Scott’s Bar-B-Que in Hemingway, SC will be the stars of the culinary event. Each of these BBQ heavyweights will cook whole hog brisket, ribs, and sausage. Local Gullah chef BJ Dennis will be on hand to serve up the side dishes.
Libations and refreshments will be provided by Holy City Brewery, Shiner Bock, King of Pops, 6 & 20 Distillery, Charleston Distilling Co., High Wire Distilling Co., and Stripped Pig Distillery.
There will also be live music at the event.
The fun begins at 3 pm and costs $50 per person. Unlike most of the other events held at Holy City Brewing, you must be 21 and older to attend.
