Local Child to Release Book on Dealing with Divorce

Charleston-area resident Jaiden Smith is about to become a published author, which is an impressive feat for anyone, but it’s even more amazing when you realize she’s just 10 years old.
After her parents got divorced, Jaiden decided to write her own children’s novel to help others understand and get through what can be a difficult and confusing time for children.
The book, A Perfect Kind of Different, will officially be released on Thursday, July 24th at The Rebekah Jacob Gallery on 502 King Street. Jaiden will be on-site from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm to sign books and take photos. Proceeds from the event will support Jaiden in her goal to donate a book to every elementary school in her school district, surrounding districts, and eventually across the country.
