The Owner of Bert’s Market Emarks on Cross-Country Scooter Trip for Charity
They may doze, but they never close! Starting today, the familiar Bert’s Market mantra will take on a new meaning as owner Omar Colon and his brother, Greg, embark on a cross-country fundraising trip for Surfer’s Healing Folly Beach.
The “Breaking Boundaries Tour” began earlier this morning when they left Folly Beach on a pair of scooters. Their journey will last around 30 days and will cover about 8,000 miles. In the end, the brothers will have visited over 20 states.
The brothers are hoping to raise money for Surfer’s Healing Folly Beach, an organization that enhances the lives of children with autism through surfing.
Charlestonians can follow the trip on the “Breaking Boundaries” website thanks to a real-time GPS tracking device. There will also be updates on Facebook.
