Charleston Beer Week: What To Do on Tuesday (Day #3)
Day 3 of the seven-day celebration that is Charleston Beer Week with be on Tuesday. Six events are scheduled – all of which are after 4 pm.
WOW! This day is PACKED with huge events. Seriously, there is an insanely long list of craft beers that will be available on Tuesday.
My pick of the day is definitely the All South Carolina Tap Takeover at Closed For Business. There will be over 40 taps filled with brews from the Palmetto State. How can you beat that?
Here’s Tuesday’s full schedule:
- 4 pm – River Dog Tap Takeover – The Barrel
- A total of ten taps will be dedicated to RiverDog Brewing beers, four of which will be barrel aged:
- Altered State
- Black Juniper Saison
- Bourbon Barrel Lowcountry Lager
- Chocolate Rye Porter
- Coastal Kolsch
- Oud Bruin Dog
- Pilsner
- Praline Ale
- River Dog IPA
- The Folly Single-Hop Session Ale (brewed especially for Charleston Beer Week)
- Coastal Crust will be serving food
- Ordinary Men will be playing Pink Floyd covers
- Free raffles
- Shuffleboard contest with a prize package worth $250
- A total of ten taps will be dedicated to RiverDog Brewing beers, four of which will be barrel aged:
- 5 pm – All South Carolina Tap Takeover – Closed for Business
- The ENTIRE bank of 40+ taps will feature South Carolina beers
- Reps will be on hand to talk shop

- 6:30 pm – Dogfish Head Bocce Tournament – Bohemian Bull

- Registration begins at 6:30 pm. First-come, first-served. Games start promptly at 7.
- 7 pm – Allagash/Stone Collaborative Dinner – Home Team BBQ (West Ashley)
- Four courses with 8 pairings – one per brewery per course
- These mini-beer-battles feature:
- Allagash Golden Brett vs. Stone Matt’s Burning Rosids
- Allagash Bourbon Barrel Black vs. Stone Bourbon Barrel-Aged Arrogant Bastard Ale
- Allagash 2013 Four vs. Stone Quadrotriticale
- Allagash Odyssey vs. Stone’s 18th Anniversary IPA
- The menu:
- Hors d oeuvres: smoked shrimp ceviche – fried pickles, remoulade – deviled eggs, smoked chicken, fried chicken skins
- 1st course: Boudin Balls, braised beans
- 2nd course: Smoked Pork Shoulder Tamale, romesco, cilantro, cotija, green salsa
- 3rd course: Beef Ribs, corn salad, chimichurri
- 4th course: Smoked Pigs Head “Tots”, green salad

- 7 pm – Radeberger Pilsner/Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Launch Party – Bay Street Biergarten
- Double-German beer launch – Draft debut of both Radeberger Pilsner and Schöfferhofer Grapefruit

- 8:45 pm – Ghost Tour/Pub Crawl with Carolina Brewery – Downtown
