BoomChow is a local subscription food service built for people looking for great meals in today’s busy world. Healthy, affordable, delicious, and convenient. Meals are prepared daily and are packed ready to be reheated with out the hassle of any pots or pans. Pick-up fridge locations with personalized digital locks are installed in businesses around town, and locations are constantly growing to provide convenience to subscribers. Customers pick up their fresh meals daily any time after 3:00pm which makes for a convenient stop after work, gym, or even school. At plans starting as low as $30.00 a week, BoomChow is accessible to almost anyone’s lifestyle.

BoomChow is a collaborative effort by Andrew Schmidt and Michael Swann. Schmidt moved to Charleston to open his first business, a freighting start-up that was both the product of both a cross-country drive and a wild promise made at 2am. While establishing his start-up in South Carolina, Andrew began purchasing groceries in bulk and eating all meals at home to save money. He offered buy-ins to roommates, and then to enthusiastic neighbors.

After a few months, it occurred to him that he might expand his dinner service. Already stretched thin between running his start-up and cooking for an ever-growing circle of friends and neighbors, he knew he’d need help. The first person to come to mind was Michael Swann, a close friend he’d hosted a few elaborate pop-up dinner parties with for their inner circle.

Swann most recently worked at McCrady’s under Executive Chef Sean Brock. Swann loves bringing the pleasures of the traditional table into the modern world, and personally crafted a line-up of healthy, savory, soul-satisfying fare.

Word has spread fast as people brag about their affordable, delicious dinners, and the initial roster of subscribers is quickly filling in. BoomChow has since moved their first refrigerator out from under the magnolia trees and into a commercial kitchen as the team continues to perfect their meals.
