It took more than a year, but tomorrow, High Wire Distilling Co. will finally release two highly-anticipated spirits – Watermelon Brandy and Lowcountry Agricole.

The Watermelon Brandy is made from the famous Bradford watermelon, a rare heirloom variety that is known for its sweetness and ties to the Palmetto State. To make the brandy, High Wire owners Scott Blackwell and Ann Marshall partnered with Sumter-based farmer Nat Bradford, who is a direct descendent of the watermelon’s original producer. A total of 273 Bradford watermelons were juiced by hand to create the batch of 143 bottles (750 mL).

The Lowcountry Agricole (rhum agricole) is a rum made with sugar cane that was grown and pressed into juice on Bair’s Farm in St. George. Approximately one acre of sugar cane was used to create the single batch of 233 bottles (750 mL). High Wire is one of only two distilleries in the U.S. to produce this style of rum.

Beginning at 11 am tomorrow, both spirits will be available for purchase at the distillery or online. Both will be $79.99 a bottle.

For more information, please visit High Wire’s website or call 843-755-4664. The distillery is located at 652 King Street.
