Jericho Arts Launches “Order & Disorder” this February
“Order & Disorder,” the next art exhibition from Jericho Arts, will feature contemporary abstracts from a group of local artists. The new installation will make its debut with an opening reception and party on Thursday, February 12th from 6 pm to 9 pm.
The exhibit will feature “non-representational works in a wide range of mediums” from artists Kristy Bishop, Matthew Shoemaker Dietz, Kelly McDonald, Jeremy Pelt, Christine Bush Roman, J. Powers Shepard, and James Wine.
Jericho Arts had the following to say about the new exhibition:
“These experienced artists use structure and color to guide the viewer to create personal meaning in their art.
Abstraction is represented in different ways throughout the exhibition. In the work of James Wine and Kristy Bishop, geometrical abstraction and precision are important. For Jeremy Pelt, Matthew Dietz, and Christine Bush Roman, gestural movement and non-‐uniform shapes take precedence. In many of the pieces, the artists use fabric, layers of paper, and other materials to help create remarkable movement and texture. The show includes paintings, drawings, mixed-‐media works, fiber art, and sculpture.”
