Carolina Challenge Cup Once Again Pits Battery against Three MLS Teams

The Charleston Battery will return to action next month in the latest version of the Carolina Challenge Cup. The event will feature four teams and six matches over three days at Blackbaud Stadium.

Besides the hometown Battery, three Major League Soccer teams – including two expansion squads – participating in the Challenge Cup. The Houston Dynamo will be making their third straight appearance in Charleston, while New York FC and Orlando City S.C. will be playing the first matches in their history.

The Cup will be a great opportunity for Charleston fans to get their first look at the Battery as they take on some top competition.

Here is this year’s schedule:

Saturday, February 21st

• 5 pm – Charleston Battery vs. Houston Dynamo
• 7:30 pm – New York FC vs. Orlando City S.C.

Wednesday, February 25th

• 5 pm – Houston Dynamo vs. New York FC
• 7:30 pm – Charleston Battery vs. Orlando City S.C.

Saturday, February 28th

• 5 pm – Orlando City S.C. vs. Houston Dynamo
• 7:30 pm – Charleston Battery vs. New York FC
