Margaret Ann “Muffy” Morris was inspired to help after her friend Brooke Rash sent her a Live 5 News report about Hospice Care of America’s concerns that they would not be able to deliver their annual Valentine’s Day “Baskets of Love” to as many patients as usual. So, this Monday, Morris will be accepted donations at Southside 17 at the Tanger Outlets.

Anyone who wishes to help, can stop by the restaurant anytime after 6:30 pm and donate a pre-made basket or drop off goods to have one made on your behalf. Monetary donations will also be accepted. The most sought after gifts are lotion and body wash. Don’t have time to shop? There’s a Dollar Tree right next to the restaurant.

For more information, visit the Facebook event page or watch Live 5’s story.

If you cannot make it on Monday, there are other area drop off locations. According to Live 5 News, baskets can be dropped off at:

  • The Goose Creek, Summerville, North Charleston, or Mount Pleasant fire departments
  • Any Joint Chiropractor location
  • Hospice Care of America’s office at 1470 Tobias Gadson Blvd., Suite 107 in Charleston

Southside 17 is located at 4950 Centre Pointe Dr. in North Charleston.
