Básico Releases New Spring Menu
The start of another season means Chef Bryan Cates of Básico has once again made changes to his restaurant’s menu.
The most recognizable tweak this spring is with the salsa lineup. Options now include smoked walnut, mango, charred ancho, pico de gallo, roja, salsa verde, and arbol. Diners can choose one for $3 or the entire lineup plus guacamole for $15.
Other additions include:
- Vegetables Dishes
- Jicama salad with garden greens, roasted Brazil nuts, chayote squash, cotija cracker, and an herbed buttermilk dressing
- Mushroom tamales
- Grilled shishito peppers
- Starters
- A ceviche dish featuring fresh fish and vegetables
- Enchiladas
- Smoked brisket
- Housemade Carolina Heritage pork chorizo
- Grilled mushroom with achiote, scallion, and pecan mole
- Tacos
- Hot chicken taco featuring grilled chicken in a spicy habanero marinade with chipotle crema and mango
- Side Veggies
- Chilled bean salad using Old Tyme butterbeans dressed with herbed citrus vinaigrette
- Brunch Menu
- A new hash lineup
- Green Chili Chorizo with scrambled farm eggs, lime crema, queso fresco and patatas
- Brisket with a sunny farm egg, chimichurri, charred onion, patatas, and pimento gravy
- Vegetarian with a collard green cake with grilled mushrooms, a sunny farm egg, salsa roja, and Green Goddess dressing
- A new hash lineup
