Charleston Bike Month is Underway

Charleston Bike Month from Charleston Moves began yesterday and is set to have its biggest year. This year’s lineup includes Bike Commuter Workshops, (We Can’t Wait To) Bike To Work Day, Blessing of the Bikes and more.

Here’s a look at this year’s schedule:

  • Tuesday, May 5th: Lowcountry Giving Day Happy Hour
    • At the Revelry Brewing Company
  • Thursday, May 7th: Bike Commuter Workshops with Bike Law
    • At Rutledge Cab Co.
    • Are you bike commuting-curious or new to biking to work or school? Join Charleston Moves and Bike Law for a presentation full of helpful tips followed by Q&A with urban bicycling experts
    • These events are free and open to the public
  • Monday, May 11th: Bike Commuter Workshops with Bike Law
    • At Ms. Rose’s

  • Friday, May 15th: (We Can’t Wait To) Bike To Work Day
    • Starts in West Ashley and will ride, with a police escort, over the Ashley River to downtown in the future bike and pedestrian lane on the Legare Bridge
  • Sunday, May 17th: Blessing of the Bikes
    • TBA
  • Wednesday, May 20th: Ride of Silence
    • At Hampton Park
    • Join hundreds of local cyclists for the Charleston version of this global event, a police-escorted silent tribute ride for those killed or injured on bicycles.
    • Gather in the north parking lot of Hampton Park at 6:30 and start the ride at 7pm (promptly)
  • Wednesday, May 27th: Bike Commuter Workshops with Bike Law
    • At a location in Mount Pleasant – TBA
