New Aquarium Exhibit Brings People Fingers to Fins with Sharks
This Saturday (May 9th), the South Carolina Aquarium will open its newest exhibit, Shark Shallows, which will literally bring visitors fingers to fins with sharks and rays.
Shark Shallows, the first exhibit of its kind in the region, will educate visitors about the importance of sharks and what they can do to protect this species. The following animals will inhabit Shark Shallows: bonnethead sharks, nurse sharks, cownose rays, and southern stingrays. Each is found off the South Carolina coast.
This Saturday, the first 200 guests through the door will receive a special Shark Shallows backpack.
The outdoor exhibit is most significant enhancement to the Aquarium since it opened back in 2000.
Shark Shallows is included with general admission to the Aquarium. For more information, visit the official website.
