Ohm Radio, Local Musicans & Restaurants Hosting Sweet Corn Cook Off
Ohm Radio 96.3FM, a fledgling commercial-free radio station, is making a final fundraising push so they can start broadcasting by this August. On Sunday, May 17th, the station will attempt to earn some funds by hosting the inaugural Sweet Corn Cook Off at The Royal American.
During the event, four local musicians/groups will be paired with four local restaurants to create and compete for the best sweet corn dish.
The participating musicians and restaurants are:
- Shovels & Rope with Obstinate Daughter
- Susto with Taco Boy
- Jay Clifford with Lee Lee’s Hot Kitchen
- The Jazz Artists of Charleston with Indaco
The winning creation will be decided by attendees.
The event will also include:
- Live music
- Charleston jazz musicians
- The V-Tones
- The Garage Cuban Band
- Children’s entertainment and activities
The Cook Off will run from noon until 6 pm. Tickets are $30 if purchased in advance or $35 on the day of. Anyone under 18 is $10. Proceeds will go to OHM Radio and their need for equipment to go on air by this August.
