Charleston Social Media Day Returns on June 30th
For the second consecutive year, the Charleston Social Media Hospitality Group and The Modern Connection have obtained an official proclamation from the City of Charleston and Mayor Joe Riley declaring June 30th Social Media Day in Charleston.
Mashable has run National Social Media Day on that date since 2010, but this year the popular website had requested cities around the world adopt their own version of the celebration.
Starting today, Holy City social media users are encouraged to celebrate Charleston’s upcoming Social Media Day by using the hashtag #chsyou. Locals should submit pictures with that hashtag to social platforms to show what Charleston means to them.
Those posts will be considered for the following categories:
- Arts – Charleston Art That Inspires You
- Food – Capture the Flavors of Charleston
- Fashion – Bowties or Boat Shoes? Show Us Your Charleston Style
- Cocktails – Pop. Fizz. Clink. Show Us Your Drink
- Pop Culture – Share Your Selfie with a Local #CHS Celebrity
- Off the Beaten Path – Share your Hidden Treasures of Charleston
The winners will be announced at the All-Inclusive VIP Sunset Celebration on Tuesday, June 30th at 45 Waterside, a private rooftop event space overlooking the Charleston Marina at the Hilton Garden Inn on Lockwood Drive. The party will include food from Tristan Events, drinks from Badger Drinking Vinegars and the Striped Pig Distillery, and music by the Bluestone Ramblers.
You could win a ticket to the event by participating in the #chsyou contest.
