Leftovers: Tidbits from the Food & Bev Community (6/15/15)

  1. leftoversTaco Boy announced that world famous mixologist and James Beard Award winner Dale DeGroff (aka King Cocktail) has created a cocktail recipe for Taco Boy to serve during AWAKENING III: SOLSTICE on June 20th. The Sunshine Cocktail features freshly-squeezed watermelon juice, muddled strawberries, and tequila. $1 from each drink sold being donated to Enough Pie.

  2. Beginning on Sunday, June 21st, Fish Restaurant will offer “Tiki Sunday,” featuring $8 tiki drinks from 4:30 pm – 8 pm. Customers can expect “revivals of South Pacific-inspired classics with Fish’s signature Asian flair.” The inaugural happy hour will include a $20 bar tab giveaway. Click here for more information.

  3. On Monday, June 15th, O-Ku, will open for lunch service. The midday menu will available Monday through Saturday from 11:30 am to 2 pm. It will include the bento, a Japanese-style lunch box featuring an assortment of sides, salads, noodles and sushi for $10 to $19.
  4. On June 21st from 2 pm – 5 pm, Bay Street Biergarten will host The Thirsty Painters, an unique event that pairs art and alcohol. Two traveling artists will walk guests through an original piece of artwork while everyone enjoys some cocktails. Make reservations by clicking here, go to the “Down South” page, and click register.
  5. Edmund’s Oast announced that it has secured a building on the peninsula for an offsite, freestanding brewery. They will offer kegs, cans, and bottles. There will also be a small taproom for patrons to visit for tastings. Brewer Cameron Read will lead the project. The brewery’s name is still to be determined and the anticipated opening is sometime in the fall of 2016.
