Vigils, Marches, & Gatherings Honoring the Charleston Shooting Victims
Here is a list of vigils, marches, and gatherings that will honor the nine people lost during Wednesday’s attack.
Friday, June 19th
- 6 am – 9 pm: Church of Our Saviour inn Johns Island
- Open for prayer
- People of all faiths and denominations are welcome
- 6 pm – City of Charleston’s Prayer Vigil at the TD Arena
- Attendees are asked not to bring bags to the event
- Free parking will be available at the City of Charleston parking garages at the following locations:
- 34 St. Philip Street garage
- Wentworth garage
- Gaillard garage
- 6 pm – Plymouth Church
- 124 Spring Street
- Prayer vigil
- 6 pm – Requiem Mass
- Church of the Holy Communion at 218 Ashley Avenue

- 6 pm – Shiloh SDA Church

- 7 pm – East Cooper Baptist Church

Saturday, June 20th
- 6 am – 9 pm: Church of Our Saviour inn Johns Island

- 10 am – Unity of Charleston

- Interfaith prayer service
- 12 pm – Saint John’s Reformed Episcopal Church
- 91 Anson Street
- Interdenominational prayer vigil
- 12 pm – 6 pm: Unity Music and Arts Festival
- Family Circle Tennis Center’s Grand Lawn (Daniel Island)
- Donations will be accepted
- 6 pm – March for Black Lives Matter
- A peaceful solidarity event
- Participants are asked to bring a flower to leave at Mother Emanuel AME Church and to wear black, in mourning
- Group will walk from Wraggs Mall to the church
- Speakers and artists will speak to the crowd at the beginning and the end of the march
- 7 pm – Without Walls Ministry Prayer Tent
- Corner of Lee and Meeting Streets in downtown Charleston
Sunday, June 21st
- 10 am – All Charleston Churches
- Charleston’s historic houses of worship will ring their bells simultaneously starting at 10 am
- 10 am – Charleston United Prayer and Worship Gathering
- Marion Square
- 7:45 pm – “Bridge to Peace” on the Ravenel Bridge
- Will start on both sides of the bridge and will pass over the pedestrian lane
