Charleston Pride Announces A Cause To Celebrate, a Week-Long Festival
This year’s Charleston Pride Festival Week, a celebration of the the city’s LGBT community, will be held from Saturday, July 25th through Saturday, August 1st.
Giving additional meaning to this year’s theme, “A Cause To Celebrate,” Mayor Joe Riley and the Charleston County Council recently issued a proclamation officially declaring the dates as Charleston Pride Festival Week.
This year’s events will include a family-friendly field day, a movie screening, a public forum featuring the Charleston mayoral candidates, an LGBT Comedy night, and a Riverdogs game featuring the team wearing their original Charleston Rainbows jerseys.
As usual, the festival will conclude with the Pride parade and after party. Here’s a look at this year’s schedule.
