2nd Annual Shrimp & Grits Chefs’ Competition Scheduled for Next Month
Shrimp and Grits Charleston, a chef’s competition, will return for its second straight year on Saturday, September 19th at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park from 6 pm until 9 pm.
This year, twenty Charleston chefs will compete in the cook-off to see who makes the Holy City’s best shrimp and grits. Attendees will be able to taste the chefs’ entries, knock back some drinks, and dance to live music.
Last year’s winners were:
- Peoples’ Choice: Michael’s on the Alley
- 1st Runner Up: Halls Chophouse
- 2nd Runner Up: Poogan’s Porch
- 3rd Runner Up: Fleet Landing
Who will win this year? YOU get to decide!
Tickets, which can be purchased here, are $35 in advance, $40 at the door, and $12 for children 12 and under. There is also a VIP ticket option for $80. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Charleston Animal Society.
