Be A Mentor Announces 2015 Going Places Gala Honorees

beamentorBe a Mentor has announced the honorees for the 3rd annual Going Places Gala, which will be held on Thursday, November 12th at Founders Hall in Charles Towne Landing.

This year’s honorees include:

  • Ovie Mughelli
    • Nine-year NFL veteran who played for the Atlanta Falcons and earned a Pro-Bowl roster spot in 2010
    • Created the Ovie Mughelli Foundation
  • Alison Johnson
    • A guidance counselor at Mitchell Math and Science Elementary School
    • Runs the Lunch Buddies program
  • Jerry Young
    • Founder of Be a Mentor
    • President and Founder of the Charleston Leadership Foundation

The Going Places Gala will pay tribute to these mentors and includes a silent auction, live music by The Lowhills, light food options, and an open bar. Tickets are $100 per person and may be purchased here. The event starts at 6:30 pm.

Be A Mentor is “an in-school mentoring program that works to instill youth with confidence, build social and emotional skills, and ensure that every child in the Lowcountry has a caring adult in their lives.” You can learn more about the organization on their website.
