Local Homebrew Club Hosts “Learn to Homebrew Day” Event
In celebration of the 17th annual “Learn to Homebrew Day,” the Low Country Libations HomeBrew Club will sponsor an event on Saturday at Yeast – Everything Homebrew, a supply shop in Mt. Pleasant. The celebration will run from 11 am until 4 pm.
“Learn to Homebrew Day” was created in 1999 by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) to encourage homebrewers to introduce their hobby to non-brewer friends and family.
Members from the local chapter will be at the in event in Mount Pleasant to conduct interactive demonstrations, answer questions, and more. The celebration will also include a yard sale and swap meet to buy or sell used brewing equipment. Other activities include live bluegrass music and a kick-off meeting for the newly-formed home winemakers club at 1 pm.
Plus, Summerville resident April Aldrich, a beekeeper and mead maker, will be available from noon until 1 pm to sign copies of her new book – “A History of Honey in Georgia and the Carolinas.”
