Smoke on the Harbor BBQ Throwdown Returns Next Week

The Smoke on the Harbor BBQ Throwdown will return to the area for two days of top-notch barbeque competition, a large vendor village, and plenty of entertainment. The culinary event will take place on November 13th and 14th at the Lookout Pavilion at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina and will once again be fully sanctioned by The Kansas City Barbeque Society.

Competition categories in this State Championship will include: Chicken Wings, Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork, and Beef Brisket. The chicken wings contest will be held on Friday, while the others are saved for Saturday.

Aside from the competitions, the Throwdown will also include:

• Samples of chicken wings and pork butts will be available for purchase
• Numerous food and refreshment options
• Live music performances from Bootless (Friday) and Seven Handle Circus (Saturday)
• a cocktail competition
• a Kids Zone

The Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina will once again host a Food Drive benefiting the Lowcountry Food Bank during the event. Patrons are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items. As a thank you, they will receive $5 off the $10 admission.

Friday’s fun begins at 5 pm, while Saturday’s events begins at noon.
