John Tecklenburg Is the New Mayor of Charleston
It took an extra two weeks, but Charleston has finally chosen its first new mayor in 40 years.
Businessman John Tecklenberg won Tuesday’s run-off election over Rep. Leon Stavrinakis and will replace the retiring Joe Riley as the mayor of the Holy City.
According to multiple news outlets, Tecklenburg won the election with nearly 57.5% of the vote, while Stavrinakis notched 42.5%.
Here’s a look at the final vote totals (will be certified tomorrow):
- John Tecklenburg: 13,513
- Leon Stavrinakis: 9,986

He needs to fix these freaking roads over an hour and a half to get to work daily, this isn’t right. Also going home is just as bad. I didn’t vote for him let’s see if he can hold this job
