Charleston Comedy Festival
Barry, Everett, and Miller Headline 2016 Comedy Festival
The 2016 Charleston Comedy Festival, which will take place from January 20-23, will be headlined by T.J. Miller (right), Bridget Everett, and Todd Barry. Miller had top billing in the 2012 event.
Each comedian will perform at the Sottile Theatre on George Street. Plenty of other shows are expected to be announced at a later date, so stay tuned.
Here’s a look at each of the headliners:
- T.J. Miller (performing on 1/23/16 at 10 pm)
- Stars in Silicon Valley on HBO
- Appeared in movies like: Cloverfield, She’s Out Of My League, Yogi Bear 3D, Get Him to the Greek, and Seeking a Friend For The End Of The World.
- Had an hour-long Comedy Central special – T.J. Miller: No Real Reason
- Lent his voice to animated films like Big Hero 6, the How To Train Your Dragon
franchise, and Gravity Falls.
- Bridget Everett (1/22/16 at 8 pm)
- The Village Voice called her “the most exciting performer in New York City”
- Film and television credits include Inside Amy Schumer, Girls, Sex and the City, Trainwreck and the upcoming Netflix series Lady Dynamite.
- Everett and her band, The Tender Moments, recently released their album, Pound It, and have a live concert special called Gynecological Wonder which premiered on Comedy Central this July.
- Todd Barry (1/23/16 at 7:30 pm)
- Played the “Third Conchord” on HBO’s Flight of the Conchords
- Appeared in The Wrestler as Mickey Rourke’s deli boss
- Has performed stand-up on The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live!
- Has had two Comedy Central Presents specials
- Also appeared on TV shows like Louie, Bored to Death, Tim and Eric, Chappelle’s Show, Sex and the City, and even Sesame Street
- Had roles in movies like Road Trip, Pootie Tang, and Wanderlust.
