The Gin Joint Offering Cocktail Benefiting Ronald McDonald House
Throughout the month of February, The Gin Joint will feature a cocktail on its menu benefiting the Ronald McDonald House of Charleston. All profits from the cocktail named “Ronnie McDonnie” will go to the organization that provides a home away from home for families while their children undergo extensive medical treatment.
Created by The Gin Joint’s beverage director James Bolt, the cocktail features chile-infused mezcal, along with Aperol, lime juice and salted honey for a unique, yet approachable take on a smoky margarita. The drink’s red hue, given by the bittersweet aperitif Aperol, was inspired by Ronald McDonald’s signature red shoes, which you also find now on display at The Gin Joint.
“Not only is the Ronald McDonald House an organization we personally love, but The Gin Joint has really come alongside to support them. Our crew has cooked and served meals for families at the local RMH, and now, we want to give people a feel-good reason to come enjoy a cocktail, or maybe two!” said MariElena Raya, The Gin Joint owner.
On the menu from February 1st through 28th, the “Ronnie McDonnie” cocktail is $10, and all proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House of Charleston. The full seasonal cocktail menu is available to view on The Gin Joint’s website. For hours and more information, visit www.theginjoint.com
